The Crofton Lady Warriors will go for their ninth state basketball title since 2005 tomorrow night when they face Ponca at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. On Thursday, the Crofton defense forced 30 Bridgeport turnovers in defeating the Bulldogs 66-48 in the Class C-2 semifinals. In the late game Thursday, Ponca scored 19 consecutive points in the first half and topped BRLD by a 55-37 score.
Hartington Cedar Catholic lost a 51-50 heartbreaker to Weeping Water in overtime yesterday in the Class D-1 girls semifinal in Lincoln. The Trojans will face Bergan today at 11:30 in the consolation final for third place at state.
Falls City Sacred Heart downed Wynot 41-27 yesterday in the Class D-2 semifinals. The Wynot girls will take on Mullen this morning in the third place game.
