South Dakota standout A-J Plitzuweit of Vermillion has been named the Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Plitzuweit poured in 37 points on Saturday and hit the game-winning free throws with two seconds left as the Coyotes edged Oral Roberts 86-84.
Senior guard Tylee Irwin from South Dakota State was chosen as the Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Irwin led the Jacks to a pair of road wins at North Dakota State by averaging 28 points a game last weekend.
