Yankton played strong defense and senior Matthew Mors poured in 33 points as the Bucks defeated Mitchell 53-44 last night at the Summit Activities Center. The Bucks are 14 and 3 and seeded second in Class AA, while the sixth-seed Kernels are 13 and 5 overall.
The Mitchell girls basketball team showed why they are the second seed in Class AA as they defeated the Yankton Gazelles 53-26 on Friday. Kate Beeman led the Gazelles with eight points as they fell to 1 and 16 overall. Yankton will host the Huron Tigers in a girls-boys doubleheader tonight, with our broadcast from Sports Director Bryce Ladwig starting at 5 p-m on KYNT Sports.
