Concordia University shot 50 percent from the field and beat Mount Marty 86-76 in men’s basketball last night at the Cimpl Arena. Jailen Billings paced the Lancers with 22 points, while Tyrell Harper chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds in his first game in a Lancer uniform. Harper was an all-state selection for Vermillion High School four years ago and recently played for Division Two Savannah State before transferring to Mount Marty. The Lancers are 7 and 11 overall and remain in eighth place in the G-PAC standings.
Concordia led the Mount Marty women’s basketball team to three points in the first quarter and defeated the Lancers 94-62 on Wednesday. Callie Otkin and Eve Miller each scored 12 points for Mount Marty, which has lost eight consecutive games and now stands at 3 and 13 overall. The Mount Marty basketball teams will play a twin bill at Dakota Wesleyan Sunday afternoon in the Corn Palace.
