Mount Marty led by four points midway through the first quarter and then Northwestern used 57 percent field goal shooting last night for an 88-66 women’s basketball victory at the Cimpl Arena. Senior Karlee McKinney led the Lancers with 20 points as their overall record dropped to 3-11.
Mount Marty led the men’s contest briefly in the second half, but Northwestern used a two-to-one rebound advantage to defeat the Lancers 69-56 in Yankton. Jailen Billings topped Mount Marty with 14 points, while Luke Ronsick and Elijah Pappas each scored 12 points. The Lancer men are 7-9 on the season and are in eighth place in the GPAC standings. The Mount Marty University basketball teams have a conference doubleheader at Dordt University Saturday afternoon.
