MMU Loses a Pair of BB Games at Briar Cliff Saturday

The Mount Marty University women’s basketball team dropped a 78-53 decision at Briar Cliff on Saturday.  Senior Karlee McKinney topped the Lancers with 15 points while sophomore Kiara Berndt added 14 points off the bench, including four three-point baskets.  Mount Marty is 3-10 overall and will host Northwestern in a GPAC doubleheader this Wednesday evening.

Briar Cliff shot 52 percent from the field and defeated the Mount Marty men’s team 94-75 on Saturday in Sioux City.  Senior Jailen Billings led the Lancers with 23 points, while junior Jonah Larson had his first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Mount Marty is now 7-8 overall and stands in eighth place in the conference.  The Mount Marty men will have an exhibition game tonight in Brookings against South Dakota State.  The game counts for the 5-3 Jackrabbits, and will be their first men’s basketball contest in 23 days.
