Mors Breaks Own Scoring Record with 48, Bucks and Gazelles Both Win

Yankton senior Matthew Mors broke his own school single-game record by scoring 48 points last night in the Bucks 76-60 victory at Spearfish.  Mors tallied 29 points in the first half and his total of 48 ranks fifth all-time for a single game in Class Double-A boys basketball history.  Spearfish pulled to within four points in the second half before the Bucks pulled away in the fourth quarter to win their season opener.

The Yankton Gazelles got a huge game from junior Ellie Karolevitz on Friday to defeat Spearfish 53-35.  Karolevitz had 20 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists in the Gazelles victory while junior Jordynn Salvatori added 10 points as Yankton evened its record to 1 and 1 overall.

The Gazelles and Bucks play a doubleheader at Rapid City Stevens this afternoon.  KYNT Sports Director Bryce Ladwig will have the call on the Current 94-3 FM, on-line at current943.com, or on the free Riverfront Sports App with the pre-game at 12:30 Central time.
