USD and SDSU Men’s Basketball Both Lose Friday

The University of South Dakota men’s basketball team shot just 37 percent from the field and dropped a 69-53 decision to Drake University on Friday.  Sophomore A-J Plitzuweit of Vermillion led the Coyotes with 14 points.  USD is winless in two games and will play at the University of Nebraska Tuesday night.

The South Dakota women’s basketball squad will face the number-one team in the nation this afternoon.  The Coyotes take on South Carolina in their season opener at 2:00 today in the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

Last night in the Pentagon, St. Mary’s jumped out to a big lead and defeated South Dakota State 72-59 in men’s basketball.  Noah Freidel led the Jacks with 22 points as they took sixth place in the Crossover Classic.
