The Mount Marty University men’s basketball team held Midland to just 16 points in the first half and rolled past the Warriors 63-49 last night at the Cimpl Arena. Jailen Billings led the Lancers with 17 points, while Elijah Pappas had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The Lancers are 3 and 4 on the season and now 1 and 2 in the conference. Mount Marty has a men’s game at Doane University on Saturday.
Midland jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the women’s contest last night and beat Mount Marty 75-49. Karlee McKinney topped the Lancers with 12 points, while sophomore Aubrey Twedt came off the bench for 8 points and 3 blocked shots. The Mount Marty women are 2 and 5 overall and winless in conference play.
