The top-seeds each won championships Saturday night in the South Dakota High School Volleyball state tournaments. Sioux Falls O’Gorman defeated Huron 3-1 in Class AA, Sioux Falls Christian swept Dakota Valley 3-0 to win the Class A title, and Northwestern topped Warner 3-1 in the Class B championship.
The state volleyball tournaments wrapped up the fall sports season in South Dakota. The winter sports competition begins next Monday across the state, and the Yankton Gazelles will host a gymnastics meet a week from tonight.
