Mount Marty Drops GPAC Basketball Games at Morningside

MouThe Mount Marty University men’s basketball team had seventh-ranked Morningside on the ropes Saturday night, but the Mustangs scored 16 of the final 17 points to pick up a 68-58 victory.  Senior Elijah Pappas topped the Lancers with 17 points, 5 rebounds and five assists as their record dropped to 2-4 overall.

The Morningside women’s basketball team scored the first ten points and rolled past Mount Marty 107-52 Saturday night in Sioux City.  The Mustangs shot 63 percent from three-point range, while the Lancers committed 15 turnovers in the first half.  Mount Marty will host Midland University in a G-PAC doubleheader Tuesday night at the Cimpl Arena.

In a men’s junior varsity basketball game Sunday in Yankton, Mount Marty defeated Dakota State 81-62.  The Lancer women’s and men’s J-V teams will play at Dordt University this evening.
