Doane University held off Mount Marty 74-65 in the G-PAC women’s basketball opener Wednesday night in Crete, Nebraska. The Tigers went on a 19-2 run midway through the first half and the Lancers cut the margin to three late in the game but could get no closer. Sophomore Carlie Wetzel came off the bench to lead Mount Marty with 15 points and 5 rebounds. The Lancers will have their first conference home doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Briar Cliff. The Mount Marty men’s game at Doane was postponed last night and will be played Saturday, November 28th at 2:00.
