There were very good results and not so good results for Mount Marty University basketball teams in this weekend’s NAIA Classic at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
On Saturday, the Lancer women rallied to defeat Presentation 69-62 as Karlee McKinney scored 21 of her 24 points in the second half. The Mount Marty men crushed Presentation 88-51 as nine players scored at least six points. On Sunday, Dickinson State put up 33 points in the third quarter to rally past the Mount Marty women 80-65. In the men’s game, Valley City State scored 17 consecutive points in the first five minutes and rolled past the Lancers 84-51. Mount Marty starts play in the G-PAC Wednesday night with a doubleheader at Doane.
