At their last meeting, the Yankton County Commission held their 1st reading of an ordinance that would raise Gross Receipts and Use Tax by a quarter of a percent in Ordinance #26.
During public comment, Lauren Nelson says that to would be irresponsible to raise taxes on the residents of Yankton at this time…
Also during public comment, Kristi Conway says that this would be a subsidy based on bad legislation from the State Legislature…
The Commission voted 3-2 to table this ordinance until a future date, so a 2nd reading will not be on the next agenda.
