The South Dakota High School Class AA Boys’ Golf State Tournament begins today in Aberdeen, with the Yankton Bucks set to compete.
The Bucks are coming off a pair of solid performances last week, placing 5th at the ESD meet and defeating Mitchell 17-7 in the Marchand Cup.
Tee time is scheduled for 9:00 AM this morning at Lee Park Golf Course in Aberdeen.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles have their matchups set for the opening round of the AA Soccer Playoffs, with both teams taking on Sioux Falls Lincoln tomorrow.
The Gazelles will host the Patriots as the #6 seed entering the postseason. The Gazelles defeated Lincoln 4-2 in their season opener, kicking off an 8-3-3 regular season.
The Bucks enter as the #16 team in the playoffs as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on the Patriots. Lincoln defeated Yankton 10-0 in their season opener.
Both games are scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 PM with the Gazelles in Yankton and the Bucks in Sioux Falls. Coverage on the Gazelles match begins at 6:15 PM on KYNT and KYNTV.
The Yankton Bucks got back into the win column on Friday, defeating Spearfish 42-21 in 11 AA Football action.
Quarterback Jackson Kudera tallied over 400 yards of total offense, throwing for 397 yards and 5 touchdowns, while rushing for another 35 yards on the ground.
The Bucks improved to 4-2 with the win. Yankton will return home this Friday night to host the Brookings Bobcats at Crane-Youngworth Field.
Mount Marty Football ended their three-game skid on Saturday, defeating the Doane Tigers 36-16 in Crete, Nebraska.
The Lancers ran for 265 yards in the win. Jordan Anderson (119), and Rugby Ryken (107) both eclipsed the century mark on the ground. Ryken had a hand in all three of the Lancers offensive touchdowns, throwing two and rushing for the third.
The Lancers are back in action on Saturday, traveling to Hastings, Nebraska, to take on Hastings.
Mount Marty Women’s Soccer improved to 5-0 in GPAC play on Saturday with a 4-1 win over Dordt in Sioux Center.
Julianne Donnelly recorded two goals and an assist in the win, with Luz Rojas-Martinez and Angelina Hopwood adding a goal each.
In the second match of Saturday’s doubleheader, the Lancer men were shutout 4-0 by the Defenders. Esteban Gomez tallied 12 saves for MMU.
Both Lancer squads return home on Wednesday to host Concordia in a doubleheader. The women are scheduled to play first at 5:00 PM, with the men to follow at 7:30.
Mount Marty Volleyball were swept by their in-state rivals Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday in GPAC play, 25-9, 25-15, 25-19.
The Lancers fall to 10-14 overall, 0-8 in GPAC play, with the loss. Mount Marty will travel to Sioux City, Iowa this weekend to take on Morningside (Friday) and Briar Cliff (Saturday).
The Cedar Catholic Trojans continued their run of dominance last Friday night with a 63-10 win over Battle Creek.
With the win, the Trojans improved to 6-0, while outscoring their opponents 286-34 so far this season.
The Trojans return home on Friday to take on Summerland at the Hartington Community Complex.
Hartington-Newcastle set a new season-high for points in a game on Friday with their 84-42 victory over Gordon-Rushville.
The Wildcats have scored a total of 352 points during their 6-0 start to the season, an average of 58.7 points per game.
The Wildcats are on the road this week, taking on Lutheran High Northeast on Friday night.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance heads to Harrisburg tonight for an invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball will host Huron tomorrow night inside the Summit Activities Center.
The Gazelles hold a 6-8 record on the season after a pair of losses last week to Watertown and Sioux Falls Christian.
First serve between the Gazelles and Tigers is scheduled for 6:30 PM tomorrow night.
The South Dakota Coyotes ended their two-game losing streak on Saturday with a 44-14 Dakota Days victory over Indiana State.
Quarterback Austyn Modrzweski (muh-jess-key) threw for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win, while Charles Pierre ran for 109 yards and another pair of scored on the ground.
The Coyotes are home again on Saturday to host Southern Illinois inside the DakotaDome.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are 2-0 in Missouri Valley Football Conference play after Saturday’s 31-14 win over Illinois State.
Josiah Johnson rushed for 100+ yards for the third straight week, averaging 163.3 yards per game during the stretch.
SDSU is off this week ahead of their October 17th matchup with North Dakota in Grand Forks.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 5-0 for the first time in a decade after Saturday’s 48-23 win over Maryland.
Quarterback Anthony Colandrea threw for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win, while leading the Husker rushing attack with 108 yards on 10 carries.
Nebraska will host the #7 ranked Indiana Hoosiers this week at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11:00 AM Saturday.
