Olympic Gold Medalist Billy Mills was in Yankton yesterday.
Mills spoke to Yankton High School students about his gold medal win at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, discrimination, and following your dreams.
Mills then visited the Yankton Middle School, including a lap around the Middle School track where he was joined by approximately 250 students and local residents.

Mills, from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, won the gold medal in the 10,000 meters at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
His 1964 victory is considered one of the greatest Olympic upsets of all time and he was the first non-European to win that event. Mills says he is the only athlete from the Western Hemisphere to win Olympic gold in the 10,000 meters.
