Yankton Gazelles Cross Country took home 1st at the Brandon Valley Invite on Saturday, with Nora Youmans and Avery Wuestawald placing 1-2.
Youmans finished with a time of 19:38.9, followed by a 19:41.3 from Wuestewald. Also for the Gazelles, Abby Johanneson was 7th, Rilyn Jackson was 16th, Imani Caballero was 20th, and Isabel Gurney was 31st.
The Bucks placed 3rd in the boys’ event, paced by Isaac Larrington and Isaac Paulson, who finished 8th and 9th.
Mount Marty Volleyball fell to 0-3 in GPAC play on Saturday, as they were swept by Midland 25-19, 25-9, 25-18.
The Lancers were held to 19 kills as a team in the loss, led by 4 kills each for Caitlin Guenther and Andrea Renkly.
The Lancers return home on Wednesday to host Concordia inside Cimpl Arena. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

The Lancer men opened with a 1-0 win over Tabor on Saturday, with a James Starkey penalty kick being the lone goal.
MMU wrapped up the weekend with a 3-1 win over Hesston. Starkey bagged another penalty, with additional goals from Jamie Hope and Rylan Eide.

The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats edged out Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Friday in a 42-36 thriller.
The Wildcats trailed 22-0 after the first quarter of play, outscoring the Bears 42-14 over the final three quarters. Austin Sudbeck rushed for 165 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win.
The 3-0 Wildcats will travel to Ponca this week to take on the 2-1 Ponca Indians.
The South Dakota Coyotes are 3-0 to start their football season following their 41-23 win over Eastern Washington on Saturday.
Running Back Charles Pierre Jr. eclipsed 2,000 yards in his USD career during the game, ending the day with 138 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.
