The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles split their Class AA Soccer doubleheader against the Watertown Arrows last night.
The Gazelles claimed a 1-0 victory in the opening game. Iyana Becker was able to score off a corner kick from Lucy Johnson to secure the win. Game two saw the Bucks fall 2-0 to the Arrows.
Yankton will be on the road for the first time in over two weeks on Tuesday, as they take on the Mitchell Kernels in Mitchell.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball fell to the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles last night in a three-set sweep in Class AA action.
The Gazelles dropped a close set one 25-21, before the Golden Eagles were able to pull away in the final two sets 25-17 and 25-9.
The Gazelles are on the road against O’Gorman for their next match on September 8th.
The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats shut out the Homer Knights last night, 36-0 in their home opener.
All 36 points for the Wildcats came in the first half, as after the halftime break the game was called due to a forfeit.
The 2-0 Wildcats are on the road next Friday night, taking on the Bears of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
