The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles took on Sioux Falls Jefferson last night in a boys and girls soccer doubleheader.
The Bucks fell 9-1 in game one. Kendall Henseler scored the lone goal for Yankton off an assist from Braylin Lathrop (lay-thrup).
The Gazelles’ game was cut short due to severe weather, ending with just under 27 minutes left in the second half, 2-2. Eden Wolfgram and Iyana Becker both scored.
Yankton is back in action tomorrow, hosting Watertown in a doubleheader at Crane-Youngworth Field. The boys play first at 6:00 PM with the girls to follow.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball fell to 3-3 on the year last night with a loss to Sioux Falls Washington.
The Warriors claimed a three-set sweep over the Gazelles, winning 25-13, 25-19, and 25-23.
The Gazelles are back in action tomorrow night, hosting Aberdeen Central. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
The Yankton Bucks shot a 301 as a team yesterday to tie for 5th in the Hub City Golf Invitational in Aberdeen.
Brayden Byrkeland and Elijah Larson both shot 74 to tied for 12th individually. Also for Yankton, Easton Schelhaas finished at 75, Max Dobler and Kai Cody each posted a 78, and Gus Sprakel shot 79.
Yankton travels to Sioux Falls’ Elmwood Golf Course on Friday for a quadrangular with Brandon Valley, Harrisburg and O’Gorman. Start time is scheduled for 12:30 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis went 0-2 yesterday during their varsity triangular in Yankton.
Yankton fell to Brandon Valley 6-3 with Mary Rounds and Harper Anderson winning in singles play. Rounds would team with Karalyn Koerner for a doubles victory. In their other match, the Gazelles were swept by O’Gorman, 9-0.
The Gazelles will face Spearfish and Jefferson on Friday at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell.
Mount Marty Volleyball will host Doane tonight in their first home match, and first GPAC match of the 2026 season.
The Lancers enter conference play with a 6-4 overall record, having won their last three matches 3-0, 3-0, and 3-1.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV starts at 7:00.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance will have their second competition of the season tomorrow night in Mitchell.
Yankton posted a pair of great finishes in their season opener this past weekend, winning the dance competition and placing 4th in cheer.
The event will be held at Mitchell High School, beginning at 5:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks Head Football Coach Brady Muth will be the featured speaker at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
Muth and the Bucks are 1-0 on the year heading into a highly anticipated matchup with Pierre this week.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the program scheduled for noon at the River Rock Event Center. The public is invited to attend.
