The Heartland Humane Society celebrated its 25th birthday this week.
Executive Director, Kerry Feilmeier, says HHS held several events in the Yankton and Vermillion communities this week.
Feilmeier says visiting with HHS founders this week confirmed that HHS has done what it set out to do 25 years ago.
HHS will close with a dog walk at the Meridian Bridge at 6:30 Friday morning.
