Yankton Gazelles Soccer improved to 3-0 this past weekend, winning both of their matches in Rapid City.
The Gazelles started on Friday with a dominant 7-1 win over Rapid City Central. Eden Wolfgram led Yankton with three goals and two assists in the win. Lucy Johnson, Terese Johnson, Auvianna Seiler, and Iyana Becker added a goal each.
Saturday saw the Gazelles earn their first win in program history over Rapid City Stevens, 2-1. Luxy Johnson and Iyana Becker both scored for the Gazelles, while Elaina Mohnen recorded six saves in net.
The Gazelles are back in action tomorrow night, hosting the Tea Area Titans in their home opener.
The Yankton Bucks are now 1-2 on their soccer season after their weekend trip to Rapid City.
The Bucks picked up their first win of the season on Friday, defeating Rapid City Central 3-2. Tony Guitron led Yankton with a brace, and Jordan Gemar added a goal to round out Yankton’s scoring.
The Bucks ended their weekend on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to Rapid City Stevens. Noah Shudak recorded 7 saves in the loss.
Yankton will host Tea Area tomorrow night in their home opener. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:15 PM with Brayden Butler.
Mount Marty Volleyball remains .500 on the year after going 2-2 this past weekend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Lancers started the weekend with a 3-0 sweep over Mount Mary on Friday. Adisyn Indahl and Caitlin Guenther recorded 10 kills each.
Game two of the day was a 3-2 loss to Missouri Valley College. Jaya Wacholtz recorded 19 kills, while Guenther and Lexi Eichoff had 4 blocks each.
Saturday saw MMU start with a 3-0 loss to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, before sweeping Goshen College 3-0. Indahl posted a match-high 9 kills in the win.
The Lancers travel to Ellendale, ND, on Thursday for their next match against Trinity Bible College. First serve is set for 6:00 PM.
The Yankton Bucks placed 4th out of 5 teams at Friday’s Invitational at Spring Creek Golf Course.
Yankton shot a 302 as a team, eight strokes back of 3rd-place Lincoln and seven strokes clear of Harrisburg in 5th.
Eli Larson and Gus Sprakel both tied for 8th with a 74 to lead Yankton individually. Brayden Byrkeland tied for 16th with a 76.
Rounding out the Yankton scoring, Easton Schelhaas shot 78, Max Dobler shot 81, and Kai Cody shot 82.
Sioux Falls Washington won the team competition at 289, led by a 1st place finish from Bryce Thompson, who shot a 2-under par 70.
Yankton travels to Pierre for their next competition on Tuesday. The event will be held at Hillsview Golf Club.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis fell to Watertown and Rapid City Stevens on Friday in a triangular in Brandon.
The Gazelles lost to Watertown 5-4. Harper Anderson and Ramsey Anderson both won in singles play. Both Andersons would also win in doubles, Harper teaming with Harper Weisenburger, and Ramsey with Sienna Cuka.
Next up for the Gazelles is a quadrangular in Brookings, scheduled for August 28th.
Mount Marty Men’s Soccer opens their 2026 season tomorrow night, on the road against Bethany Lutheran College.
The Lancers are coming off a 3-7-5 record last season, 1-5-4 in GPAC play, advancing past the first round of the GPAC Tournament for the first time in program history with a shootout win over Northwestern.
Kickoff from Mankato, Minnesota, is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball has their first match of the season tomorrow night, as they take on the Brookings Bobcats in Brookings.
The Gazelles have a new Head Coach this season, as Tiffany Beste returns to the role. Yankton finished last season 11-16 with a SoDak 16 appearance.
First serve from Brookings High School is scheduled for 6:30 PM tomorrow night.
