Mount Marty Women’s Soccer ranks 6th in the GPAC Preseason Poll, released by the conference yesterday.
The Lancers finished 2025 with an 8-8-3 overall record, 4-4-3 in the GPAC, advancing past the opening round of the conference tournament for the first time in program history, while setting new records for total wins and conference wins.
Hastings claimed the top spot in the poll with seven first-place votes. Morningside earned the other five votes to take second.
The Lancers open their 2026 season on August 26th with a home matchup against Dakota State.

Yankton Gazelles Tennis split their triangular yesterday afternoon against Lennox and Vermillion.
The Gazelles defeated Lennox 8-1, sweeping doubles play with Karalyn Koerner, Mary Rounds, Harper Weisenburger, Harper Anderson, and Ramsey Anderson picking up wins in singles play.
Yankton would fall to Vermillion in their matchup 5-4. Vermilion swept doubles play, with Karalyn Koerner, Mary Rounds, Harper Weisenburger, and Ramsey Anderson winning in singles for Yankton.
Yankton travels to Brandon for their next action on Friday. They will face Watertown and Rapid City Stevens in a triangular, beginning at 12:15 PM.
Yankton Bucks Golf placed 7th in the Warrior-Lynx Invitational yesterday, shooting a 318 on day two.
Yankton’s total score was a 626, placing 7th out of the 15 teams competing. Gus Sprakel placed 22nd individually with a 154, followed by Easton Schelhaas, who shot 155 to place 25th.
Rounding out the scorecards for the Bucks, Eli Larson shot 156, Brayden Byrkeland shot 162, Kai Cody shot 164, and Abe Hanson shot 168.
Yankton travels back to Sioux Falls on Friday for a five-team event at Spring Creek Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 8:00 AM.
The South Dakota Coyotes had a pair of athletes honored this week as Summit League Players of the Week for women’s soccer.
Forward Kinsey Pesicka was named Offensive Player of the Week, scoring a pair of goals over her first two collegiate games.
Goalkeeper Campbell Fischer picked up Defensive Player of the Week recognition, making 11 saves while allowing one goal over two games against Northern Iowa and Nebraska.
This is the second time in program history that South Dakota has had both Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in the same week.
