Three of the South Central League’s four representatives were in action yesterday in the opening round of the Class B Amateur Baseball State Tournament.
The Lesterville Broncs were held to one run yesterday, as they were eliminated by Garretson 11-1. Tyler Edler tallied a pair of hits, with Dawson Bietz driving in Michael Drotzmann for the lone run. Lesterville ends the year with a 9-12 record.
The Wynot Expos advanced to the round of 16 with a 6-3 win over Lake Norden in round one. Jalen Wieseler notched two hits, including a triple in the win. Jesse Lundal was credited with the win on the mound. Wynot’s next game will be on Monday at 5:30 PM against Alexandria
The Crofton Bluejays had their season come to an end last night with a 6-4 loss to Alexandria. James Kaiser drove in two of Crofton’s four runs in the loss. Austin Gobel and Bailey Sage each added an RBI.

The Class A Amateur Baseball State Tournament begins today, with Riverside Field in Yankton playing host to the opening weekend of games.
Eight teams make up this year’s field for the double-elimination tournament. The South Central League Champion Yankton Lakers will be joined by the Tea Steam, Brookings Cubs, Harrisburg Woodies, Black Hills A’s, Aberdeen Circus, Renner Monarchs, and Sioux Falls Brewers.
Yankton will play Harrisburg in the final game of night one at 8:00 PM. The tournament begins with Brookings facing Tea at 5:30 tonight.

Miles Krajewski was dominant in his final group stage match yesterday at the Peru Para Badminton International, allowing just one point over two sets.
Krajewski shut out Canada’s Emilien Langelier in set one 21-0, before completing the sweep 21-1 in set two.
Krajewski enters bracket play as the top seed, earning a first-round bye. He will play the winner of Kuldeep Tanwar (India) vs Martin Casini (Argentina) at 3:30 PM local time this afternoon.
Midco and the University of South Dakota athletic department announced a $1.5 million gift that will transform the former Dome Club into the Midco Club, a renovated premium space designed to bring Coyote fans closer to the action inside the DakotaDome.
The agreement includes naming rights for the Midco Club and a slate of upgrades that will elevate the gameday experience, including new windows that open to the DakotaDome on gamedays, additional TVs, new furniture and refreshed finishes throughout the space.
The partnership between Midco and USD dates back more than 20 years and reflects a shared commitment to creating memorable experiences for Coyote fans across the region. The latest gift builds on the momentum of the recently extended relationship between Midco and USD Athletics.
