Yankton Post 12 will host Aberdeen Smittys Post 24 tonight in the opening game of the Class A Legion Baseball first round.
Yankton enters the postseason as the #3 seed with a 15-6 Class A record, while Aberdeen is ranked #14 at 6-17. Yankton swept Aberdeen in the regular season, winning 9-0 and 9-4.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30 with Brayden Butler and Josh Boelter on the call.
The District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament begins tomorrow in Menno, with #4 Lesterville taking on #5 Freeman.
Lesterville and Freeman both finished with a 6-8 record in the South Central League this season, with the two teams splitting their regular season series. Lesterville won game one 14-8, and Freeman won game two 13-8.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM tomorrow night, with the winner advancing to take on #1-seeded Tabor in the next round.
District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament (Round One):

South Dakota Track and Field earned both the men’s and women’s team recognition, and 18 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The South Dakota women’s track and field program has a 3.71 team GPA (on a 4.0 scale), which is 10th in the NCAA. It is the 14th consecutive year of a top-30 national ranking. The men’s team stands with a 3.34 team GPA.
To be recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic team, a program must hold a combined cumulative GPA above 3.00. Both USD programs have held that distinction since 2011.
The South Dakota State women’s basketball team was recently recognized by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as part of the 2025-26 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
The Jackrabbits are ranked ninth in NCAA Division I with a 3.762 team GPA. SDSU has been ranked in the WBCA Academic Top 25 19 times since moving to Division I in the 2004-05 season.
The Jacks’ 3.762 GPA is the team’s second-highest on Division I record, second only to 2022, when SDSU had the top GPA in the country (3.837).
The Yankton Lakers and the Tabor Bluebirds are both ranked in the final South Dakota Amateur Baseball Polls of the season, with the Wynot Expos receiving votes.
Yankton is ranked 4th in Class A at 18-3 on the year, while Tabor ranks 7th in Class B at 10-4. Wynot were the final team to receive votes in Class B
Yankton, Tabor, and Wynot finished as the top three teams in the South Central League for the 2026 season.
