Yankton Police Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near 31st Street and Adkins Drive late Tuesday night.
Yankton Police Chief, Jason Foote, says officers were able to determine that the driver of a blue Subaru had been operating the vehicle under the influence when it collided with a utility light pole.
The driver, identified as Nathaniel Nelson of Yankton and was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence 2nd Offense, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle.
Foote says no further information is available at this time.
The Yankton Fire Department and Yankton County EMS assisted at the scene of the crash.
