Cyndi Lauper’s Las Vegas residency opened with a brief unscripted moment after an audience member interrupted her during the show.
During the first night of her limited run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Lauper was speaking to the crowd before performing Sally’s Pigeons when someone in the audience shouted at her. In video shared from the concert, Lauper paused and responded directly from the stage.
The moment drew applause and laughter from the crowd, and the concert continued without further disruption. Lauper went on with the performance as planned.
The Las Vegas dates follow her recent farewell tour, which was presented as her final major run of touring. The residency gives her a way to continue performing live without the same travel schedule that comes with a full tour.
Lauper has long been known for a direct stage presence and a close connection with her audience. This exchange became a small viral moment from opening night, but it did not appear to affect the rest of the show.
