Yankton Bucks Baseball suffered their first loss of the season yesterday, as they split their doubleheader with Mitchell.
The Bucks fell in game one 6-1. Sam Gokie reached base in all four plate appearances for Yankton. Tate Beste was driven in by Jackson Kudera for the lone Yankton run.
Game two saw the Bucks take a 5-3 win. Kaden Hunhoff led the offense, finishing 2 for 3 at the plate, driving in a pair of runs.
The 9-1 Bucks are back home tomorrow night to host O’Gorman in a doubleheader. Game one is set for 5:00 PM with game two to follow. Coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:15 with Brayden Butler and Josh Boelter.
Mount Marty Baseball dropped the final two games of their four-game series with Morningside on Saturday in Sioux City.
The Mustangs won game one 16-4, before edging out the Lancers 11-10 in game two. In game two, Ethan Synovec and Tyler Vance combined for 4 hits, 2 runs, and 5 RBIs for the Lancers.
Mount Marty wraps up their regular season with a four-game home stretch against Dakota Wesleyan. The first two games are scheduled for Friday.
The Mount Marty Lancers were swept by Morningside on Saturday in their GPAC Softball doubleheader.
Both games ended in similar scores, as the Mustangs won game one 7-2 and game two 6-2. Alyssa Sosky scored both runs for MMU in the final game, going 3 for 3 at the plate.
The Lancers have their final home doubleheader on Tuesday, as they host Midland at Sertoma Park in Yankton.
Mount Marty Men’s Golf travels to Dakota Dunes today for the opening day of the GPAC Tournament.
Day one of the two-day event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM at the Dakota Dunes Country Club.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf is in Council Bluffs, Iowa, today for the opening day of the Iowa Western Bent Tree Intercollegiate Tournament.
Tee Time is scheduled for 9:00 AM this morning at Bent Tree Golf Course.
Yankton Gazelles Golf has their first home competition of the season on Tuesday, as they host a quadrangular at Fox Run Golf Course.
Yankton will face Brandon Valley, Brookings, and Harrisburg during the event. Tee time is set for 10:00 AM tomorrow.
Yankton Track and Field travels to Brandon on Tuesday for a five-team competition at Brandon Valley High School.
Field events are scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM tomorrow, with running events starting at 4:00.
Yankton Bucks Tennis hosts Sioux Falls Washington Tuesday afternoon for a varsity dual.
Matches are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM at the Yankton High School Tennis Courts.
Yankton Gazelles Softball returns home tomorrow night to host the Brandon Valley Lynx in Class AA play.
First pitch from Sertoma Park in Yankton is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
