The Mount Marty Lancers dropped both games to Morningside last night in their GPAC doubleheader.
The Lancers fell in game one 10-5. Tyler Vance and Daniel Vonnegut led the Lancer offense, combining for 4 hits and 3 RBIs
Game two ended 4-3 in favor of the Mustangs. Logan Boom was the lone Lancer to record multiple hits, finishing 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI.
The Lancers and Mustangs wrap up their four-game series tomorrow in Sioux City, Iowa. Game one begins at 1:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks Tennis swept their triangular with Huron and Aberdeen Central yesterday in Huron.
The Bucks defeated the Tigers in their opening matchup, sweeping doubles play for an 8-1 win. Yankton ended the day with a 9-0 sweep over Aberdeen Central.
The Bucks are now 12-2 on the year, heading into their home dual against Sioux Falls Washington on Tuesday.
Yankton Gazelles Softball fell to 2-4 on the season last night with an 8-4 loss to Sioux Falls Washington.
Jocelyn Behrns finished 3 for 3 with a home run for the Gazelles. Reese Garry threw the complete game in the circle.
The Gazelles will host Brandon Valley in their next game on Tuesday, April 21st. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM.
The Mount Marty Lancers were swept by Dakota Wesleyan last night in their GPAC Softball doubleheader.
Game one ended in a 7-4 loss. Arin Eaton, Kayleen Jacinto, and Brooke Richardson all finished 2 for 4 at the plate.
Game two saw DWU claim a 4-2 win. Jacinto and Eaton drove in the two runs for the Lancers.
Next up for the Lancers is a doubleheader with Morningside tomorrow in Sioux City, Iowa.
Yankton Track and Field claimed five event victories yesterday at the Corn Palace Relays in Mitchell.
The Bucks took the top spot in two events. Cale Haselhorst won the boys’ 110 hurdles with a time of 15.06 seconds, and William Rounds claimed the top spot in the pole vault, clearing 13-06.
The Gazelles swept the “jump” events, with Quinn Brinkmann winning the high jump (5-6.5), Burkley Olson winning the long jump (17-7.25), and Juliet Remington winning the triple jump (36-3).
Yankton will travel to Brandon on Tuesday for their next competition at Brandon Valley High School.
