Yankton Bucks Baseball improved to 8-0 last night with a pair of wins over Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
Yankton scored 19 runs over the course of the doubleheader, winning game one 9-4 and game two 10-0 in five innings.
Easton Feser and Sam Gokie powered the Yankton offense, combining for 9 hits, 7 RBIs, and 8 runs scored. Feser recorded his first home run of the season as well with a two-run blast in game one.
Boston Frick and Ryan Turner both picked up wins on the mound. Frick earned his 3rd win of the season, while Turner earned his 1st win in his 1st start.
Yankton is back at home on Saturday, taking on Mitchell in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Softball fell to the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders last night, 4-0 in Sioux Falls.
Kyra Tjeerdsma recorded the lone hit of the game for Yankton, finishing 1 for 3 at the plate.
The Gazelles are now 2-3 on the year. They will take the field again tomorrow night, as they host Sioux Falls Washington at Sertoma Park at 6:00 PM.
Mount Marty Softball were swept by the Doane Tigers yesterday in their GPAC doubleheader in Crete, Nebraska.
Brigid McGill and Megan Toplovich each recorded 2 hits in a 3-2 loss in game one. The Lancers were held to 4 hits as a team in game two, falling 4-0.
The Lancers are back on the road tomorrow to take on Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell. Game one begins at 6:30 PM.
Yankton Bucks Tennis were swept by the O’Gorman Knights last night, 7-0 in their dual in Sioux Falls.
No matches were contested at flight one singles or doubles between the two teams.
Yankton will travel to Huron tomorrow for a triangular. The Bucks will play Huron at 9:00 AM and Aberdeen Central at 12:30 PM.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf placed 5th out of 13 teams at the Kaitlyn Erickson/Doane Invite, which concluded yesterday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Lancers were led by a pair of top-10 individual finishers with Trinity Palmquist in 8th and Abigail Greenhoff in 9th.
The Lancers will travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Monday for the Iowa Western Bent Tree Intercollegiate Tournament. The tournament will be the last for the Lancers before the GPAC tournament.
Yankton Track and Field claimed several event victories last night at their home triangular against Brandon Valley and Mitchell.

Yankton travels to Mitchell tomorrow for the Corn Palace Relays beginning at noon. The event was originally scheduled for April 18th, but was moved up due to forecasted weather.
