Yankton Bucks Baseball improved to 4-0 last night with a doubleheader sweep of the Huron Tigers.
The Bucks outscored the Tigers 17-2 over the two games, winning game one 10-0 in five innings, and game two 7-2.
Easton Feser powered the Bucks’ offense with 4 hits and 5 RBIs over the two games. Carter Boomsma was active on the base paths, stealing 4 total bases.
Beck Ryken pitched a complete game shutout in game one to pick up the win, while Sam Gokie threw five scoreless innings for the win in game two.
Yankton travels to Chamberlain on Saturday for a neutral-site matchup with Spearfish. Game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
Mount Marty Baseball split their GPAC doubleheader with the Midland Warriors yesterday in Fremont, Nebraska.
The Warriors claimed the opener 10-1. The Lancers were held to 4 hits as a team, with Tyler Vance driving in Gio Galvan for the lone run.
The Lancers bounced back in game two with a 9-8 win. Cooper Milnarik went 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs at the plate. Liam Bates pitched one scoreless inning in relief to take the win on the mound. Aspen Dahl was credited with the save, his third of the year.
The Lancers will travel to Orange City, Iowa on Friday for their next pair of games, as they take on Northwestern in a GPAC doubleheader, beginning at 3:00 PM.
Mount Marty Softball went 1-1 yesterday in their GPAC doubleheader against Concordia University.
The Lancers doubled up the Bulldogs in game one, winning 6-3. Arin Eaton and Kayleen Jacinto both finished with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Jacey Hayen picked up the win in the circle.
Game two ended 13-3 in favor of the Bulldogs. Makayla Hudson went 2 for 2 at the plate to lead the Lancer bats.
Mount Marty will host Waldorf on Saturday in a GPAC doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 PM.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf wrapped up the Concordia Women’s Spring Invite yesterday with a 9th-place team finish.
Kamri Kittelson was the highest individual finisher for MMU, tying for 29th in the event. Abigail Greenhoff followed, tying for 34th.
The Lancers are back on the course on Monday, as they begin the two-day Kaitlyn Erickson Invite, hosted by Doane.
Yankton Gazelles Softball will have their home opener tonight, as they host the Pierre Governors at Sertoma Park in Yankton.
The Gazelles are 1-1 on the year, coming off an impressive 15-0 win over Aberdeen Central earlier this week. Yankton pitchers Reese Garry and Brenna Elwood threw a combined no-hitter in the win.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening.
Yankton Bucks Tennis travels to Sioux Falls tomorrow to compete in a triangular at Jefferson High School.
Yankton starts their day against Milbank at 1:00 PM, before wrapping up against Jefferson at 3:00 PM.
Yankton Track and Field will be in action tomorrow afternoon, as they compete in the Huron Invitational.
The Invitational will be held at Tiger Stadium. Field events are set for 2:00 PM, with running events scheduled for 3:30.
Mount Marty Track and Field will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, tomorrow to compete in the Sioux City Relays.
The relays will be held at Elwood-Olsen Stadium in Sioux City. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
