Today’s scheduled baseball doubleheader between Mount Marty and Mayville State at Riverside Field has been canceled due to forecasted weather.
The Lancers are now scheduled to return to action on Friday with a road doubleheader against Hastings. Game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM in Hastings, Nebraska, with game two to follow.
Yankton Gazelles Softball fell in their season opener against Brookings yesterday, 7-4 in extra innings.
The game was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 8th when a three-run home run sealed the win for the Bobcats.
Kalli Koletzky led the Gazelles in the loss, finishing 3 for 4 at the plate with two runs scored.
The Gazelles are off until April 7th, when they take on Aberdeen Central in Aberdeen. The game will be held at Northern State University.
Yankton Bucks Tennis has had their home opening triangular moved indoors today due to the forecasted weather.
Matches will now be held at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center. Yankton will face Bishop Heelan at 11:00 AM before ending the day against Vermillion.
Mount Marty Softball has postponed their GPAC doubleheader against Midland that was scheduled for tomorrow to next Monday.
Before they make up their games with the Warriors, the Lancers are scheduled to face Doane in Crete, Nebraska, on Saturday.
Mount Marty Men’s Golf is in Sioux City, Iowa, today to conclude their two-day match against Briar Cliff. Tee time is scheduled for 9:00 AM.
The South Dakota Coyotes will host the Illinois State Redbirds on Wednesday, with a trip to the WNIT Championship game on the line.
The Coyotes earned their spot in the Fab Four with wins over Northern Colorado (80-60), Pepperdine (73-57), and Montana State (65-56).
Illinois State had hosted every game up to this point in their run to the Fab Four, defeating the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (81-52), Abilene Christian (59-55), and George Washington (61-53).
Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening.
The winner will meet either Arkansas State or Marshall in the WNIT Championship on April 4th.
Mount Marty University has announced the addition of transfer Bella Swedlund to their women’s basketball program.
Swedlund is a Winner, South Dakota native who earned three First-Team All-State honors during her high school career. She was a finalist for “South Dakota Miss Basketball” in her senior season.
Swedlund comes to Mount Marty after spending the past two seasons at Valparaiso University.
