The Yankton County Commission has approved a motion to continue EMS services to surrounding counties within five miles of the Yankton County line.
Commission Chair John Marquardt says he believes the county should offer assistance to surrounding counties if requested.
Commissioner Dan Klimisch argued that the Yankton County residents should be the priority.
The motion that was approved was presented by Commissioner Ryan Heine. It passed on a 4-1 vote, with Commissioner Klimisch voting no.
