The Center is getting a permanent alcohol license.
Center Director, Kris Thury, says the decision make sense because the Center has a high number of special events with alcohol throughout the year.
City Finance Officer, Lisa Yardley, says discussions between the city and the Center began last year because 44% of the city’s special alcohol events in 2025 were from the Center.
The Yankton City Commission approved the Center’s request for a permanent alcohol license with an 8-0 vote. Commissioner Brian Bertch abstained due to being a board member at the Center.
