The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles swept Brookings last night in their boys and girls basketball doubleheader.
The Gazelles improved to 7-11 on the year with an impressive win in game one, defeating Brookings 56-24.
The Bucks ended the night with their 5th win in their last 7 games, picking up a 64-38 victory. The Bucks are now 6-12 after starting the season 1-10.
Yankton will travel to Spearfish on Friday for their next doubleheader. The girls play first at 7:00 PM Central, 6:00 PM Mountain, with the boys to follow
Mount Marty Men’s Basketball will host the Briar Cliff Chargers tonight in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament.
The Lancers swept the Chargers in the regular season, winning 80-65 in Yankton and 74-66 in Sioux City.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30 with Tehl Tanner.
Those attending the game in person, GPAC tournament games will have an admission price of $10 for adults and $3 for students, K-College. There is no senior rate for the tournament games, and GPAC students can enter for free with a valid college ID.
Mount Marty Women’s Basketball will compete in the GPAC Tournament tonight, as they take on the top-seeded Dordt Defenders.
The #1-ranked Defenders swept the Lancers in their two regular-season meetings, 82-56 and 92-58.

The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their final meeting of the 2025-26 athletic season today at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.
Yankton High School head track and field coach Geoff Gross, Mount Marty head track and field and cross country coach Dan Fitzsimmons, and Mount Marty baseball coach Josh Teichroew will be the featured guest speakers.
A meal will be available for purchase at 11:15 AM, with the meeting scheduled to begin at noon. The public is invited to attend.
Mount Marty baseball split their home doubleheader against Valley City State yesterday at Riverside Field.
The Lancers fell in game one 3-2. Cooper Milnarik drove in both runs for the Lancers with a two-run home run.
The Lancers ended the afternoon with an 11-5 win. Jalen Owens ended the night with a pair of hits, one being a home run, and three RBIs.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow as they host Bismarck State for the first game in a three-game series. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM.
Mount Marty Softball fell to GPAC rivals Dakota Wesleyan yesterday, 7-3 in a non-league game.
The two teams combined for six runs in the first inning alone. Arin Eaton led the Lancers, going 1 for 2 at the plate with 2 runs and an RBI. Yankton High School alum Elle Feser recorded a hit and a pair of RBIs for DWU.
The Lancers travel to Sioux Center, Iowa, tomorrow for a pair of games. They will face William Penn at 2:00 and Viterbo at 6:00.
The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats defeated the Cedar Catholic Trojans last night, 60-52, in the Subdistrict C2-5 Semifinals.
With the win, the Wildcats advance to the subdistrict C2-5 championship game to take on the top seed and hosts, Pender. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles will be in Sioux Falls tomorrow for the opening day of the boys and girls wrestling state tournaments at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
Yankton qualified twelve wrestlers for the tournament. Representing the Bucks will be Colton Archer (106), Damian Janish (113), Brooks DeLozier (120), Ethan Smith (126), Zane Portillo (157), Shayce Platt (165), Edly Amaro (215), and Drace Gaskins (285). For the Gazelles, Chloe Caton (115), Alexis Brenden (120), Jaclyn Kyte (135), and Winry Yaggie (145) will all compete.
Matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM tomorrow. Both events will run through Saturday.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball hosts Omaha tonight in Vermillion. Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center is set for 6:00 PM.
