Yankton Gazelles Head Soccer Coach Tyler Schuring has been named a finalist for National Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.
Schuring, who was recently honored as the South Dakota High School Girls Soccer Coach of the Year, is one of eight finalists for the award.
The NHSACA will recognize a National Coach of the Year in nineteen sports during their banquet in Coralville, Iowa, on July 1st.
The Mount Marty Lancers host the Midland Warriors tonight in a GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball doubleheader.
The Lancers swept the Warriors when the two teams met in Fremont on November 19th, winning the women’s game 76-37 and the men’s game 75-52.
The women play first at 6:00 PM tonight, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner.
Mount Marty Competitive Cheer travels to Hastings, Nebraska, today for a GPAC Invitational. Events begin at 10:00 AM.
GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra and Mount Marty President Mark Brown will be the featured guest speakers at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
Westra is the second-ever GPAC Commissioner, having served in the role since 2003, while Brown recently took the reins at MMU following the retirement of Marc Long.
The meeting will begin at noon with a meal available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM. The public is invited to attend at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball will host North Dakota tonight inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
The Coyotes enter with a 6-5 record in Summit League play, having won 3 of their last 4 games

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball looks to end their two-game losing streak tomorrow night, as they take on the Denver Pioneers in Denver, Colorado.
The Jackrabbits are 11-14 on the year, and hold a 4-6 record in Summit League play.
Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM on Thursday.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball will host the North Dakota Fighting Hawks tomorrow night.
The Jackrabbits are 6-2 in Summit League play this season, coming off a dominant 84-51 win over St. Thomas last week.
