Mount Marty Baseball was swept by Mount Mercy in their doubleheader yesterday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska.
Game one ended 14-13. Cooper Milnarik went 4 for 4 with 3 runs at the plate. Daniel Vonnegut finished 3 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.
In game two, the Lancers fell 13-7. Vonnegut and Jalen Owens led the Lancers with 2 hits and an RBI each.
The Lancers are back in Omaha this Saturday and Sunday for a four-game series against Hesston College.
Mount Marty Softball started their season 1-1, splitting their games with Culver-Stockton and Benedictine on Sunday.
The Lancer defeated Culver-Stockton 5-1 in their season opener. Kayleen Jacinto led MMU with 3 hits and a run scored.
In game two, the Lancers would drop a 5-4 decision to Benedictine College. Alyssa Krause went 2 for 4 at the plate for MMU.
The Lancers are back in action on Sunday in a doubleheader against Northern State in Aberdeen.
The Mount Marty Lancers host the Midland Warriors tomorrow night in a GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball doubleheader.
The Lancers swept the Warriors when the two teams met in Fremont on November 19th, winning the women’s game 76-37 and the men’s game 75-52.
The women play first at 6:00 PM tomorrow night, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner.
Mount Marty Competitive Cheer travels to Hastings, Nebraska, tomorrow for a GPAC Invitational. Events begin at 10:00 AM.
GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra and Mount Marty President Mark Brown will be the featured guest speakers at Wednesday’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
Westra is the second-ever GPAC Commissioner, having served in the role since 2003, while Brown recently took the reins at MMU following the retirement of Marc Long.
The meeting will begin at noon with a meal available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM. The public is invited to attend at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.
The Cedar Catholic Trojans host Elkhorn Valley this evening in a boys and girls basketball doubleheader.
The girls play first at 6:00 PM, with the boys to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNTV begins at 5:45 with Tehl Tanner.
