Gayville Fire District Plan to go to a Special Election

The Gayville Fire Department is proposing a new fire district.

Gayville Fire Chief, David Rabe, says the reason for the proposal is the rising cost of fire engines and equipment.

Rabe laid out the proposed district for the Yankton County Commission at their meeting Tuesday.

The commission approved the petition, which will now go to a special election sometime this spring.
