Yankton Bucks Basketball fell to the Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers last night in an overtime thriller, 49-47.
The Bucks trailed 39-36 in the final seconds of regulation, before a Beck Ryken three-pointer sent the game to a fifth period.
The Bucks were outscored 10-8 by the Cavaliers in OT. Jackson Kudera led Yankton with a game-high 20 points, adding 7 rebounds as well.
The Bucks travel to Sioux Falls on Friday for their next game against Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball fell to 2-6 last night with a 62-32 loss to the Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers.
The Gazelles trailed by 6 at the half, but a 35-11 second half sealed the win for the Cavaliers.
The Gazelles return home on Friday as they host the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders in Yankton.
The Mount Marty Lancers travel to Crete, Nebraska, tonight for a GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball doubleheader against the Doane Tigers.
The Tigers swept the Lancers when the two universities met on December 17th in Yankton, 81-67 in the women’s game and 68-65 in the men’s game.
The women play first at 6:00 PM tonight, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner on the call.
Yankton High School Basketball Coaches Chris Haynes (Bucks) and Blake Savey (Gazelles) will be the featured guest speakers at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting at the River Rock Event Center.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the meeting set to begin at noon. The public is invited to attend.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles travel to Vermillion tomorrow afternoon for a boys and girls wrestling triangular.
Yankton will face Vermillion and Dakota Valley during the event. A rolling schedule will be in effect with matches beginning at 5:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics travels across the border to Hendricks, Minnesota, tomorrow afternoon for a dual with Estelline-Hendricks.
The competition will be held at the Barn in Hendricks, with events scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball travels to Omaha, Nebraska, this evening for a Summit League matchup with the Omaha Mavericks.
The Coyotes enter 10-10 on the season, 2-3 in league play, after their loss to North Dakota this past weekend. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM this evening.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball looks for their 4th straight win tomorrow night, as they take on the Omaha Mavericks in Omaha.
The Coyotes have won three straight games, with their last two victories coming by 20 or more points. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball heads to St. Paul, Minnesota, tomorrow night to take on St. Thomas.
The Jackrabbits are 3-2 in conference play, having alternated wins and losses through their first 5 games. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM tomorrow night.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is in Grand Forks, North Dakota, tonight to take on North Dakota.
The Jackrabbits are looking to bounce back from their first Summit League loss of the season on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM this evening.
