The Mount Marty Lancers swept the Northwestern Red Raiders last night in their GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball doubleheader.
The Lancer women won game one 72-65, defeating Northwestern in Orange City for the first time since 2016. Lacey Sprakel led the Lancers with 24 points. Leah Williams added 17 points on 4/6 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Lancer men ended the night with an 83-78 victory. Sutton Arend posted team-highs in points (22) and rebounds (5). Jake Jensen (18) and Jackson Edman (15) also scored in double figures.
The Lancers are back on the road on Saturday, taking on Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell. The women play first at 2:00 PM, with the men to follow.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball take on the Mitchell Kernels tomorrow night in a Class AA doubleheader.
Both Yankton squads enter with 1-4 records coming off losses to the Vermillion Tanagers on Tuesday.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling travels to Harrisburg this afternoon for a triangular at Harrisburg High School.
Yankton will face Mitchell and Harrisburg during the event. Matches are set to begin at 5:00 PM.
The Cedar Catholic Trojans are in Laurel, Nebraska, tonight for a boys and girls basketball doubleheader against the LCC Bears.
The girls will play first at 6:00 PM with the boys to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNTV begins at 5:45 with Scott Ulrich on the call.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball fell to the St. Thomas Tommies last night, 99-86 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Isaac Bruns led the Coyotes with 24 points in the loss. Trent Hudgens added 17 points in his USD debut. Hudgens and Silas Bennion were both allowed to join USD through an NCAA waiver due to mounting injuries in the Coyote program.
The Coyotes return home on Saturday to host the Denver Pioneers inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball hosts Oral Roberts tonight in Summit League play.
Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball hosts the Denver Pioneers tonight in Brookings.
