Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to the South Dakota Coyotes in an exhibition game last night, 85-61.
Sutton Arend led the Lancers in the loss with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Jackson Edman followed with 11 points.
Isaac Bruns led USD with a game-high 23 points. Three other Coyotes scored in double figures. Jordan Crawford had 17, Cameron Fens had 12, and Uzziah Buntyn had 10.
The Coyotes open Summit League play on Wednesday against North Dakota State, while the Lancers return to GPAC play on Saturday against Morningside.
Yankton High School Athletics ends their holiday moratorium this week, beginning on Thursday.
On January 2nd, Gazelles Wrestling has a varsity invitational at McCook Central High School beginning at 11:00 AM, Gazelles Gymnastics takes on Harrisburg in a home dual after their original matchup was postponed earlier this month. Events begin at 5:30 PM, and Bucks Hickey takes on Sioux Falls West in Sioux Falls.
On January 3rd, Bucks and Gazeles Basketball return to the court to take on Aberdeen Central. The Bucks will play in Yankton while the Gazelles travel to Aberdeen. Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
On January 6th, Bucks Wrestling ends their break with their home opener. Yankton will face Pierre and Brookings beginning at 4:00 PM.
On January 9th, Bucks and Gazelles Bowling resumes play against West Central. Action will be held in Sioux Falls.

South Dakota Coyotes close out 2025 tomorrow afternoon, hosting the College of Saint Mary in Vermillion.
The Coyotes 9-4 in non-conference play, defeating the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley in their last game 71-44.
Tip-off between the Coyotes and the Flames is set for 2:00 PM tomorrow afternoon inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is in Tuscon, Arizon, tonight to take on the Arizona Wildcats.
The Jackrabbits are 7-7 on the year coming off back to back losses, while the undefeated Wildcats are the #1 ranked team in the latest NCAA rankings.
Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM Central this evening.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers compete in their second straight bowl game on Wednesday, taking on the Utah Utes in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl.
Nebraska ended the regular season with a 7-5 overall record, while Utah ended the year as the #15 team in the country at 10-2.
