Mount Marty Senior Julia Weber has been recognized as First-Team All-GPAC to end her collegiate career.
Weber was near the top of almost every stat category this season for Mount Marty, recording 757 assists (1st), 194 kills (3rd), 294 digs (3rd), 55 blocks (3rd), and 13 service aces (5th).
Weber becomes the 2nd Lancer ever to be named 1st-Team All-GPAC. Also recognized for MMU, Caitlin Guenther was chosen to the 2nd-Team, and Kate Tollinger and Adisyn Indahl were honorable mentions.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball travels to Fremont, Nebraska, tomorrow afternoon for a GPAC matchup against Midland.
The Lancer men enter with a 2-4 record following an impressive 84-71 victory over Dordt on Saturday, while the 4-1 Lancer women look to rebound from their first loss of the season this past weekend.
The women play first at 6:00 PM, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner on the call.
Yankton High School will host their annual Winter Sports Kickoff on December 1st in the YHS Commons.
YHS coaches Justin Olson (gymnastics), Robert Coyle (boys’ wrestling), Jason Yaggie (girls’ wrestling), Courtney Russenberger (winter sideline cheer), Blake Savey (girls’ basketball), and Chris Haynes (boys’ basketball) will all speak at the event, as well as athletic trainers Trevor Woods and Julie Brennan.
The program is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM on December 1st, the public is invited to attend.
South Dakota Coyotes Head Women’s Basketball Coach Carrie Eighmey (Amy) will be the featured guest speaker at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
Eighmey is in her second year at the helm for the Coyotes. After an 11-20 season last year, the Coyotes are 5-0 to start this season.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the program scheduled for noon. The public is invited to attend.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball got back into the win column last night, defeating Peru State 94-46 in Brookings.
Redshirt Freshman Trey Buchanan led the way with 24 points off the bench, followed by 14 points from Damon Wilkinson and 13 from Alec Squires.
The Jackrabbits improve to 3-2 with the win. Next up for SDSU is a matchup with Georgia State on Friday.
