The Yankton Bucks football team is looking to capture the 11AA State Championship Friday night, something the program hasn’t done since 2015.
Head Football Coach, Brady Muth, says winning a state title would mean a lot to the team and the community.
To do so, Yankton will have to defeat a familiar foe in the Pierre Governors, a program that has won seven of the last eight 11AA State Championships.
Yankton did play Pierre earlier this year, with the result being a 35-28 victory for the Bucks on Homecoming.
Muth says the message to the team this week has been to enjoy the moment.
Kickoff of the 11AA State Championship game between Yankton and Pierre is 7 pm Friday night.
