The Yankton Bucks punched their ticket to the 11AA Football State Championship on Friday with a 41-28 victory over Sturgis.
Jace Sedlacek carried the Yankton offense, rushing 31 times for 176 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Tate Best added 193 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air.
Defensively, the Bucks were able to intercept Scoopers Quarterback Jackson Cano three times, including a pick six from Miles Drotzmann in the first quarter.
The Pierre Governors await the Bucks in the DakotaDome this Friday night. Kickoff for the 11AA State Championship is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
Mount Marty Football fell to Morningside on Saturday, 63-20, at a snowy Elwood Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Lancers end their 2025 season with a 12-16 overall record, including a 5-11 conference record and a bid in the GPAC Tournament.
Mount Marty Women’s Soccer had their Cinderella run come to an end in the GPAC Semifinals on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to the Dordt Defenders.
The Lancers entered the GPAC Tournament as the #8 seed, and upset #1 Morningside in the Quarterfinals on penalty kicks to advance to Saturday’s game.
The Lancers end 2025 with an 8-8-3 overall record, 4-4-3 in GPAC play, and their first GPAC Tournament Semifinal appearance in program history.
Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell in the final seconds of their matchup with York on Saturday, 92-90 inside Cimpl Arena.
York’s Jadin Johnson hit a go-ahead layup with just under 7 seconds remaining to secure the win for the Panthers.
Sutton Arend led the Lancers in the loss with a game-high in points, 30, and rebounds, 8.

The Wynot Blue Devils are the Nebraska High School Volleyball Class D2 State Champions, taking a five-set win over Cambridge in the title match on Saturday.
Senior Kenna Oligmueller led the Blue Devils with 25 kills in the win, adding 9 digs defensively. Haley Wieseler posted 42 assists for Wynot.
South Dakota Coyotes Volleyball Coach Leanne Williamson became the winningest coach in Summit League history on Saturday, picking up her 249th career win and her 147th conference win 3-1 over Kansas City.
Morgan Bode led the Coyotes with 16 kills in the historic win, followed by 10 kills from Audrey Nelson.
The Coyotes are now 18-8 on the year with the win.
The South Dakota Coyotes defeated the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Saturday, 24-17, inside the DakotaDome.
Running back LJ Phillips Jr. powered the USD offense again, rushing for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns on 27 carries. Larenzo Fenner led all receivers with 68 yards on 4 catches and a touchdown for the Coyotes.
SDSU Quarterback Jack Henry threw for 139 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in his first start. Jack Smith was the leading rusher for SDSU with 82 yards on 3 carries, including a 75-yard touchdown run in the 1st quarter.
The Coyotes end their regular season next week with a road game against Southern Illinois. The Jackrabbits return home to Brookings on Saturday to host Illinois State.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers got back into the win column on Saturday with a 28-21 victory over UCLA in Los Angeles, California.
Freshman Quarterback TJ Lateef completed 13 of 15 passes for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns for Nebraska in his first career start. Emmett Johnson led the Husker offense with 129 rushing yards, 103 receiving yards, and 3 total touchdowns in the win.
The Huskers have a bye this week before traveling to University Park, Pennsylvania, on the 22nd to take on Penn State.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating Ozark Christian College 121-65.
Jesse McIntosh and Porter Ihnen led USD with 20 points each in the win. Ihnen recorded a double-double, adding a team-high 13 rebounds.
The Coyotes are back in action on Wednesday, hosting Southern Indiana inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball improved to 2-0 on Friday with a 75-50 win over Air Force in Vermillion.
USD was led by a game-high 22 points from Angelina Robles. Patience Williams finished just shy of a double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball suffered their first loss of the season yesterday, 65-58 to Northern Iowa.
Damon Wilkinson led the Jacks with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Joe Sayler recorded 16 points as well in the loss.
The Jackrabbits travel to Eugene, Oregon, on Wednesday for their next game against the Oregon Ducks. Tip-off is set for 8:30 PM Central.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is 2-0 after Friday’s 79-65 home victory over the Rice Owls.
Brooklyn Meyer led the way for SDSU, recording 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Maddie Hartwig posted a team-high 14 rebounds in the win.

The Cedar Catholic Trojans had their football season come to an end on Friday with a 27-21 loss to Ord in the C2 State Quarterfinals.
Brady Hochstein ran for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss. Ord’s Colton Thompson recorded 5 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown to lead the Chanticleers.
The Trojans end their season with a 10-1 overall record.
