Rates are going up at the Summit Activity Center and the Huether Family Aquatic Center.
Yankton Parks and Rec Director, Todd Larson, says the city hasn’t raised rates at either facility since going into 2024.
Larson says the rate increases are due to the rising costs of expenses.
Daily passes at the Huether Family Aquatic Center will go from $11 to $12, while season passes will rise from $70 to $75.
Individual passes at the Summit Activity Center will go from $440 to $506 annually. Monthly will go up $6 from $40 to $46.
Those rate increases will go into effect at the beginning of the new year.
The City of Yankton is also raising its water consumption rate.
City Finance Officer, Lisa Yardley, says that rate will go up three percent.
Yardley says wastewater incremental and solid waste collection rates will also go up three percent, effective November 1st.
The commission approved all three increases in an 8-1 vote, with Commissioner Bill Conklin voting no.
