Yankton Bucks football looks to remain undefeated tomorrow night, as they host the Douglas Patriots at Crane-Youngworth Field
The Bucks are 2-0 on the season, coming off a 52-26 win over the defending state champion Watertown Arrows last week.
The Bucks were recognized for their hot start earlier this week, earning 23 of 25 first-place votes in the latest 11AA media polls.
Kickoff from Yankton is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00. Brayden Butler and Josh Boelter will be on the call.
Mount Marty Volleyball fell to the #17-ranked Midland Warriors last night in a five set match in Fremont, Nebraska.
The Lancers went up 2-0 early in the contest, with the Warriors battling back for the 3-2 win. Four of the five sets were decided by four points or less.
Adisyn Indahl and Caitlin Guenther led the Lancers’ attack with 14 kills apiece. Julia Weber recorded 49 assists in the loss.
The Lancers are on the road for their next match, as they take on Doane on Saturday.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles both earned recognition in the latest Class AA Soccer Coaches Poll.
The Gazelles are 5th in the class with a 5-1-3 record this season. The Bucks are receiving votes in the latest poll, riding a four-match win streak.
The Bucks and Gazelles return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Huron for a doubleheader against the Tigers.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer swept Buena Vista last night in their doubleheader in Storm Lake, Iowa.
The women dominated in their win, defeating Buena Vista 4-0. Alexia Valdez scored a brace for the Lancers, with Kari Pate scoring as well. An own goal by BVU rounded out the Lancer scoreline.
The Lancer men rallied from an early deficit to grab a 2-1 win in their matchup. Zach Hebda and Arthur Rodriguez both found the back of the net for Mount Marty, assisted by Lukas Amaya and Sammuel Badmus.
The Lancer men and women split for their next set of games on Saturday. The men will face Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota at 7:00 PM, while the women take on Bellevue in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance has a home invitational this evening at the Summit Activities Center. Competitions begin at 5:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks Golf has a home invitational tomorrow morning at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club.
Ten other schools are scheduled to compete in the event. Tee time is set for 10:00 AM.
