The Yankton County Commission has officially rescinded a motion that would’ve left the 4H Director position in Yankton County open, which would’ve essentially ended 4-H operations in the county.
Tim Tanner, who is the SDSU Extension State 4-H Program Director, says a SDSU employee will fill the role at a significant cost savings to Yankton County.
During an impassioned speech at Tuesday’s commission meeting, Commission Chair, John Marquardt, discussed some of the feedback the county has received over the last few weeks.
The county approved the motion, but there is no official timeline on when that hire will be made.
