Yankton Bucks Football begins their 2025 campaign tomorrow night, on the road against the Huron Tigers.
The Bucks are coming off an 8-3 season in 2024, which saw them advance to the Class 11-AA semifinals before falling to the Pierre Governors.
Yankton graduated a majority of last year’s starters, including their starting quarterback, both starting linebackers, their starting running back, and their top two receivers.
Despite the turnover, Yankton reloads with over twenty seniors on this year’s roster, as they look to return to the Dakota Dome and claim their first state championship since 2015.
Kickoff from Huron is scheduled for 5:00 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:00. Brayden Butler and Josh Boelter will be on the call.
Yankton Gazelles Soccer is tied for 5th in the latest Class AA Girls’ Soccer Coaches Poll, following their 3-1-1 start to the season.
Harrisburg maintains the top spot in the poll, followed by Rapid City Stevens, Pierre, and Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Sioux Falls Lincoln is tied with Yankton for 5th.
The Yankton Bucks are outside of the top five, but are receiving votes in the poll despite their 1-3-1 start to the season.
The Bucks and Gazelles return to action tonight, hosting Tea Area in a doubleheader. The Gazelles kick off first at 5:00 PM, with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:00 with Brayden Butler on the call.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Cross Country has their first meet of the season this afternoon at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls.
The girls’ varsity race will begin at 4:00 PM, with the boys’ varsity race scheduled for 4:25. This will be the first competition under new head coach Mitchell Gullikson.
Moun Marty Women’s Golf will open their season this morning, beginning a two-day home invitational in Yankton.
Day one of the competition will be held at Fox Run, with day two taking place at Hillcrest. Tee time for both days is 10:00 AM.

The Bucks are coming off a fourth-place finish in Pierre on Tuesday, where two Yankton athletes, Easton Vellek and Kai Cody, placed inside the top ten individually.

Yankton Gazelles Tennis has a varsity quad tomorrow morning, taking on Brookings, Harrisburg, and Aberdeen Central in Brookings.
The Gazelles are 5-1 to start their season, after they split their triangular with Rapid City Stevens and Watertown.
Yankton will play Harrisburg first at 11:00 AM. The Gazelles will then face Brookings before ending the day against Aberdeen Central with a rolling schedule in use.
Mount Marty Volleyball travels to Oskaloosa, Iowa, tomorrow for the first half of a four-match stretch.
The Lancers are 3-1 to begin their season, defeating Michigan-Dearborn once and Mount Mary twice at last weekend’s Blue Angel Bash in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
MMU will play Clarke first tomorrow at 5:00 PM, followed by a match with Southwestern. The Lancers will face Graceland and William Penn to conclude the event on Saturday.
