Yankton Gazelles Soccer is 1-0-1 to start the season, defeating Rapid City Central on Saturday and drawing with Rapid City Stevens on Friday.
Friday was a 2-2 draw between the Gazelles and Raiders. Auvianna Seiler scored the first goal of the season, with 8th grader Willa Tacke scoring the second after being set up by her sister Sienne.
Saturday brought a 3-0 shutout of the Cobblers for Yankton. Josslyn Elwood, Iyana Becker, and Eden Wolfgram all scored in the win.
The Gazelles travel to Watertown tomorrow for a matchup with the Arrows. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks Soccer split their first two games against Rapid City Central and Stevens, falling to Stevens on Friday before defeating Central on Saturday.
Yankton was held scoreless by the Raiders, losing 3-0 on Friday. The Bucks would flip the script on Saturday with a 3-0 win over the Cobblers.
Kevin Ortiz scored the first goal of the season, with Zane Becker and Alex Swihart adding their names to the score sheet as well.
The Bucks travel to Watertown tomorrow for a matchup with the Arrows. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The Yankton Lakers had their season come to an end on Saturday, as they were eliminated from the Class A Amateur Baseball State Tournament by Harrisburg, 13-3.
Mount Marty University was represented for Yankton, as current Lancers Shugo Kondo and Drew Ryken had a pair of hits, with Lucas Kampshoff hitting a home run.
Yankton ends their season with a 25-3 overall record. Harrisburg would go on to win the Class A State Championship with a 4-3 win over Renner.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis earned a sweep in their season-opening triangular on Friday, defeating Pierre 5-4 and Rapid City Central 9-0.
Sabrina and Nora Krajewski and Karalyn Koerner were perfect in the triangular, going 4-0 over their singles and doubles matches.
Yankton is back in action tomorrow for a home triangular against Lennox and Vermillion, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Yankton Bucks Golf is in Spearfish today for the opening day of the Black Hills Invite. Tee time is scheduled for 1:00 PM Mountain at Spearfish Canyon Golf Course.
