Jason Jones Testifies in His Wife’s Trial

Convicted killer Jason Jones testified in the trial of his wife, Carrie Jones, on Wednesday, telling jurors Carrie Jones did not know he was going to kill Gene Twiford and that it wasn’t her intent for him to do so.

Jason Jones said he made the decision to kill four Laurel residents on Aug. 4, 2022, on his own, and that his wife did not ask him to commit the murders. His testimony on Wednesday comes after he did not appear at his own jury trial last year.

Closing arguments in Carrie Jones’ case are expected on Thursday.
