Governor Larry Rhoden announced Wednesday that a new $3.8 million facility will be built in Yankton to support pregnant women and young mothers struggling with addiction.
Rhoden says the funding for the facility is part of a bill that former Senator Jean Hunhoff brought forward in 2022.
Rhoden says the facility will be built by Avera Sacred Heart Hospital and staffed by Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services.
Rhoden made the announcement at the grand opening of the new Lewis & Clark Behavior Health Services facility in Yankton on Wednesday.
